The Durban Undersea Club (DUC) is pleased to announce the launch of the Durban Undersea Club Cup, a national freediving competition at Kings Park Pool from 21 – 24 September 2024.
Freedivers from across the province and country are expected to participate in the DUC Cup 2024. It is officially registered under AIDA International, a globally recognised rule- and record-keeping freediving certification agency.
“Establishing this inaugural event in our region is no easy feat, but there is an increasing level of interest and backing from the community,” adds Van der Hoogen. “Competitors and spectators are both welcome! This is not just for freedivers but anyone who loves sports, and being in the water,” she concludes

Can children come to events?
Unless otherwise stated, children are always welcome, but please be aware that most of our events are aimed at an adult audience. Children must be supervised at all times.
Is there seating at events?
Yes, we always provide a variety of seating for all ticketholders unless it’s a dance event or art show opening. One of our crew will always be on hand to assist you in finding a seat if you need one.
Are you near public transport?
Very. There is a bus stop a few doors up and the train station is about 7 minutes gentle walk away.
Can I come on my own?
YES! Many of our customers come alone to events, it’s never a problem and you will be welcomed warmly.
