Durban CTO is based in the Durban Central region with the aim of promoting Durban area, locally, nationally and internationally. The objectives of the CTO are to establish the products, events and experiences within the Durban central area. the Durban CTO’s mandate is to implement applications and destination through communicating and disseminating information on the region’s attractions and events through different mediums.
The Durban CTO also provides patrons with additional information in the form of brochures on attractions, tours and accommodation and also advising patrons with possible itineraries. Durban CTO also provide advices based on analysis to tourism operators, product owners, associations and emerging businesses on specific strategies for adoption and business growth opportunities.

Africa’s oldest surviving botanic garden The Durban Botanic Gardens has played a vital role in the life of Durban since the Garden was established in 1849. It had its origin in a garden that was primarily established for the cultivation of vegetables, fruits and other agricultural crops. It developed through these successive stages until it became an important botanical station, achieving local and international recognition through its research, plant collection, educational outreach and connecting people and plants.
